Aronia

Aronia is also known as Black Chokeberry, aronia melanocarpa. It is a shrub that produces black colored berries that are very high in antioxidants.  The fruit and juice can be used to make wines, jam, juice, tea and tinctures.

I have purchased, several times, 2 year old Aronia Seedlings from Burnt Ridge Nursery.  Here is the weblink: http://www.burntridgenursery.com/Aronia-Berry-Bushes/products/37/

Here is an excellent write up of Aronia, from one of my favorite plant resources on the web, Temperate Climate Permaculture.  http://tcpermaculture.blogspot.com/2013/04/permaculture-plants-aronia-or-chokeberry.html

Here is the Wikipedia entry for Aronia. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aronia

Here is an article from Modern Farmer about the economic potential of Aronia.
